Beck's

Live studio

Online event with artists painting live to exclusive tracks mixed by people online.

Dare created a series of online and offline events with musicians and artists, culminating in our ambitious but exciting Live Studio, to support Beck's sponsorship of emerging artists and musicians.

We auditioned artists by asking them to create a piece of art in time to a specially compiled track by Does It Offend You, Yeah? Submissions were then judged by a panel of luminaries including Peter Saville and John Squire and the lucky winners were invited to take part in our Live Studio event. We simultaneously invited musicians to compose using our unique online music mixer.

We provided samples by legends including Moby and Sonny J and gave users the chance to create their own mixes. More than 1000 tracks were submitted and we short listed our favourites to provide inspiration at our Live Studio event.

The event itself took place in a studio where we broadcast the winning artists creating art, in real time, to tracks compiled by the Music Mixer. The Live Studio was streamed live to an international audience on becks.co.uk.
